Hicks brothers finish 1-2 in 45-mile road race in Berbice
The Hicks brothers- Andrew and David- on Sunday emerged as the leading riders in the Marcel Crawford memorial road race in Berbice. Andrew copped the top prize in the 45-mile event, stopping the clock at one hour, 57 minutes, followed closely by David.
The race commenced at Sukhpaul Gas Station in New Amsterdam, turned at the Number 51 Police Station and ended at Alness Village.
Mario Washington rode in third, followed by Sybourne Fernandes and Ralph Seenarine in fourth and fifth respectively. The Hicks brothers took five prime prizes each.
David Hicks was the leading rider of the Junior category, with Washington second and Jeremiah Joseph third. Fernandes was the top Veteran rider, with Fitzroy Tang taking second.
