Woman among three bandits who posed as passengers to rob Taxi Driver
Delroy Adonis, a taxi driver of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara was relieved of his motorcar, cash, and cellphone by two men and a female who posed as customers.
Police reported that on Saturday, at around 21:35 hrs, Adonis reportedly picked up a male customer who requested to be taken from Vreed-en-Hoop to the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
The suspect reportedly requested that Adonis stop to pick up a male and female.
Subsequently, the men pulled out a gun and relieved Adonis of his Toyota Allion motorcar #PZZ3220 valued $3.2 million; one Samsung A20 smartphone valued $45,000 and $15,000 cash.
Police were later able to locate the stolen car, found abandoned along Craig Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Investigations are ongoing.
