Police are investigating an alleged theft committed on a Brazilian gold miner at the Sheriff Inn Hotel, Second Street, Bartica, which occurred on Monday, May 3.
Police Headquarters noted that Paulino DeJesus claimed he checked into the hotel and retired to bed after midnight on Sunday, however, he woke up, he discovered that his passport, documents, $30,000 in cash and 320 grams of raw gold valued at $3.2 million were missing.
Police said there was no sign of forced entry to his room. Investigations are ongoing.
