Juvenile escapee detained for murder recaptured
The Sophia Holding Centre
A 17-year-old boy who escaped from the Sophia Juvenile Holding Centre on April 22 was recaptured by police on Wednesday.
According to reports, police acted on information and ventured to a house in Bushlot Village, West Coast Berbice and conducted a search at around 15:30 hrs.
The teen, who was detained on an alleged murder charge, was found hiding in the lower flat of the building and taken into custody, awaiting transfer.
He was apart of a team of five who had escaped from the facility in April. Three others were recaptured shortly after escaping while one juvenile remains at large.
