Two more Reg. 4 residents die from COVID-19; 10 deaths in May so far
Two more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 died on Wednesday, taking the country’s overall death toll since March 2020 to 310.
The latest fatalities are, a 57-year-old male and a 62-year-old female from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica). They both died while receiving care at a medical facility on May 5.
The death toll for May thus far is 10. Importantly, with the addition of the deaths reported today, there have now been 110 deaths recorded over the past two months. Between March 11, 2020, to March 4, 2021, Guyana recorded exactly 200 deaths.
In April alone, the deadliest month of the pandemic so far, 65 individuals who were infected, lost their lives.
All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.17), which are in effect until May 31, 2021.
