Labourer released on $500k bail after charged for robbery
Tameshwar Deochan, a 30-year old labourer of No. 69 Village, Corentyne, Berbice was on Thursday slapped with a robbery under arms charge.
Police said the robbery was reportedly committed on Samantha Singh and Armanauth Ragonauth at their No. 69 Village Corentyne home.
Deochan appeared at the Springlands Magistrate Court before Magistrate Alex Moore where the charge of two counts of robbery under arms was read to him.
He was charged under Section 222 (c) of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01 but was not required to enter a plea.
He was then released on $500,000 bail and the case was deferred to May 19 for report.
