Long-standing supporter of Bodybuilding in Guyana, Fitness Express, has once again pledged support to the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) for its Novices Championships, to be held virtually in Linden, on Saturday, May 29, at the Lichas Hall.

President of the GBBFF, Keavon Bess, expressed immense gratitude for the entity’s continued and overwhelming support over the years.

Jamie McDonald, the proprietor of the John and Sheriff Streets business entity, said it is important to invest in sport, especially events like these, which unearth the future talents.

Approximately 25 athletes are set to take the stage for the federation’s first event for 2021, and they will compete in the three different segments, namely Bodybuilding, Miss Bikini and Men’s Physique.

According to GBBFF, athletes, backstage personnel and executives will have to observe all COVID-19 protocols.

On stage, athletes will be required to stand six feet apart, while backstage athletes will be required to wear their masks and maintain the mandatory physical distancing. Judges will be seated six feet from each other and will be required to wear their masks.

Last December, the Federation hosted what was deemed a successful Virtual ‘Resilience’ Championship at the National Cultural Centre.
