On Wednesday, Guyana recorded 128 new COVID-19 infections from 1,456 tests, taking the country’s overall total confirmed cases to 14,659.
The majority of new cases were recorded in Region Four with 68 new infections; Region Five came in with 24 new cases while Region Three recorded 23 new cases.
Region Seven recorded two new cases while Region Ten recorded 11 new cases. The other regions recorded no new cases.
Thus far, 12,551 persons have recovered from the dreaded disease. Guyana’s total number of deaths is now 331 since the pandemic hit these shores in March 2020.
There are 1,657 patients in home isolation, 106 patients are in institutional isolation and 14 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
