Man, 55, dies from COVID-19

Another person who tested positive for COVID-19 has died taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 332.
The latest fatality is a 55-year-old male from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica) who died while receiving care at a medical facility on May 12.
The latest death also means that 33 persons have died for this month thus far, while the death toll in April, which has been Guyana’s deadliest month in the pandemic so far, is 66.
From March 4, 2021, to now, Guyana has seen a surge in both the number of additional people infected daily and the number of lives lost due to COVID-19.
