143 new COVID 19 cases; 14 in ICU

Guyana on Friday recorded 143 new COVID-19 infections from 1,364 tests, taking the country’s overall total confirmed cases to 14, 988.

The majority of the new cases were recorded in Region Four with 55 new infections; Region Nine came in with 35 new cases while Regions Three and Six recorded 30 and seven new cases, respectively.

Region Ten and Five both recorded six new cases each while Regions One and Seven recorded one case each.

The two other cases were recorded in Region Two with no case recorded in Region Eight.

To date, 335 persons have died from the virus in Guyana while 12,834 have recovered.

There are 1,692 patients in home isolation, 113 patients are in institutional isolation and 14 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
