Two more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 have died taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 335.
The latest fatalities are two males, a 69-year-old from Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) and 70-year-old Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica). They both died while receiving care at a medical facility on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
The latest deaths also mean that 36 persons have died for this month thus far, while the death toll in April, which has been Guyana’s deadliest month in the pandemic so far, is 66.
From March 4, 2021, to now, Guyana has seen a surge in both the number of additional people infected daily and the number of lives lost due to COVID-19.
