Pastors robbed at gunpoint on Sheriff Street
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a 33-year-old male pastor and a 36-year-old female pastor, who was robbed at gunpoint in the vicinity of the Nirva Supermarket, on Sheriff Street, Georgetown at around 14:45hrs on Wednesday.
The duo was robbed of a brown Timberland wallet, national ID cards, driver’s license, NIS cards, Republic Bank card, Republic VTM card and $2,000 in cash, along with a gold iPhone XS Max valued at $250,000, a black wallet valued at $2,000, a T&T ID card, T&T license, T&T, card, $3,000 in cash and a red Fransico handbag valued at $10,000.
Police Headquarters in a statement noted that the victims were heading to the supermarket when the perpetrators approached them on a black motorcycle. The pillion rider dismounted and pointed a gun to both victims, demanding that they hand over all their belongings but they refused.
He then discharged a round in their direction, which did not hit them, but caused them to let go of their valuables.
The bandits then escaped.
