As he made a quick stop at a fast-food caravan on Sheriff Street, a 40-year-old man was robbed of his motorcycle and cellphone by a scissors-wielding bandit.

According to a release from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Saturday, the incident occurred on Friday.

The victim reportedly told police that the male suspect approached him and pulled out a pair of scissors, demanding that he hand over his valuables.

Fearful for his life, he did as told and handed over his blue Lifan motorcycle, registration number CG 8128, valued at $180,000, and a cell phone valued at $10,000.

The suspect, police said, then escaped south along Sheriff Street.

Investigations are ongoing.
