113 receive COVID-19 jab at Everest vaccination drive

On Saturday last (May 22), the Everest Cricket Club (ECC) in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Parliament of Guyana, held a vaccination drive under the theme, “Knock COVID out of Guyana”.

The noble effort resulted in 93 persons of varying ages within the stipulated criteria of 18 years and older, receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while another 20 got their second dose.

According to a release, ECC President, Manzoor Nadir, who is also the Speaker of the National Assembly, expressed thanks for the efforts of the Advisor to the Ministry of Health, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, and his staff for their assistance in what was a successful event.

Special mention was made of GK Inc., who facilitated several persons to have their Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose tested, along with the donation of free Diabetic Testing kits.

They also paid appreciation to Banks DIH Limited for providing beverages and Beacon Cafe for supplying other beverages and snacks.

“Let us continue to strike at the heart of this health issue,” the club wishes to re-emphasise.
