Female security guard, 26, robbed on the way home in Albouystown
A 26-year-old security guard who was making her way home just after midnight was robbed by two armed bandits at Cooper Street and Punt Trench in Albouystown, Georgetown.
The bandits stole from her a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone valued at $40,000 and her backpack which contained $10,000 in cash and personal documents.
The Police Force, in a release, noted that the victim was walking east along Punt Trench on her way home when she passed the perpetrators sitting at the corner of King Edward Street.
As she approached the corner, the two perpetrators confronted her from behind; one pointed a gun at her while the other took away her bag with the articles.
They escaped north along Cooper Street. Investigations are ongoing.
