‘Loud Up’ remanded for allegedly snatching gold chain

A 22-year-old vendor was on Tuesday remanded to prison for allegedly snatching a woman’s gold chain.

Darrell Glasgow, also known as “Loud Up” of ‘C’ Field Sophia, appeared before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the simple larceny charge.

Particulars of the charge alleged that on March 19, 2021, at Regent Street, Georgetown, Glasgow stole from Neikisa October, one gold chain and gold ring totalling $490,000.

The Chief Magistrate remanded Glasgow to prison until June 8. According to reports, on the day question, the victim was walking along Regent Street when she observed Glasgow following her.

The victim alleged that Glasgow came up from behind her and snatched the gold chain from her neck; the chain also had a gold ring attached to it. The matter was reported to the police and Glasgow was arrested on May 21.

He was allegedly placed on an identification parade and was positively pointed out by the victim.
