Fazal Pellew, age 28, of Bamboo Drive Meadowbrook, Georgetown, was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital with serious injuries to his leg and hand on Thursday after he collided with a parked car.
Police said Pellew was riding motorcycle #CJ 9081, reportedly at a fast rate, when he collided with motorcar #PYY 833, owned and driven by Andray Haynes, age 33, of Victoria Road, Sparendaam, East Coast demerara.
According to a police report, Pellew was proceeding east along the Rupert Craig Highway while Haynes was stationary on the northern parapet of the carriageway.
Pellew lost control and collided with the right rear portion of the car. He picked up in an unconscious condition by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Police said he was rushed into emergency surgery to correct injuries to his left leg and left hand, which was successful. He is now in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
