Devanand Persaud, 36, of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara is now hospitalised in a serious condition after being involved in a hit and run accident.
Police reports indicate that the accident occurred on Sunday evening at around 19:25hrs on the Mon Repos Public Road.
Persaud, according to police, was attempting to cross the road when a motorcar, particulars unknown struck him.
The injured man was then picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was examined by a doctor and admitted.
Investigations are ongoing.
