P&P Insurance Brokers in Edghill’s corner for Olympic Games

P&P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited on Monday made a financial contribution to national table tennis player, Chelsea Edghill, to assist her in preparation for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics in July-August.

The presentation was made at P&P Office at 272-273 Lamaha Street, Georgetown.

In brief remarks, Jaya Panday, Account Executive of P&P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited, said that the company was very happy to support Chelsea and wished her all the best.

She said P&P has an outstanding record in the discharge of its corporate social responsibilities and this presentation is just another manifestation of it.

Panday also congratulated Edghill on all the hard work she has been putting in and said that she was sure that Chelsea will make Guyana proud.

In response, Edghill thanked Panday and P&P Insurance for the support, and promised to do her very best. She also remarked that over the years, P&P Insurance has consistently supported table tennis.

Edghill was granted a spot at the Games through the tripartite system, which only has two spots worldwide for table tennis, one male and female.

For the next two months, Edghill will be at the High-Performance Training Centre of Table Tennis (CAR) and Sport Clube de Mirandela, in Portugal, undergoing intense sessions in the build-up to the global showpiece.

Already, the Guyana Olympic Association and the Guyana Lottery Company have thrown their support behind the 23-year-old Edghill.
