Three local restaurant owners, along with another entrepreneur, have pooled their resources to lend support to the ongoing flood relief efforts.

Sean Major of Level Patio and Grill, Aamir Khan of The BoardRoom and Kumar Sarran of Mantra Restaurant and Longue, along with Julian Monzie of Ecom Shop Guyana, on Wednesday donated a large quantity of food and cleaning supplies to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC).

Sarran indicated that they recognised many Guyanese are displaced because of the current flood situation and they wanted to ensure they play a role in the humanitarian effort of assisting those affected.

CDC’s Deputy Director-General, Major Loring Benons, expressed thanks for the timely contribution.

President Dr Irfaan Ali on Wednesday announced that the CDC has advised that the flood situation across the country is now a Level 2 Disaster.
