Jane Miller is new British High Commissioner to Guyana

Jane Miller, British High Commissioner to Guyana designate

Jane Miller, a recipient of the order of the British Empire award, has been appointed the new British High Commissioner to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

She will also serve as Her Majesty’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Suriname, a press release from the UK government noted.

She replaces Greg Quinn who was transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
Ms Miller will take up her appointment during July 2021.

Her most recent appointment was in Tanzania as a Development Director. She will have to give up that post to come to Guyana.

She worked previously as the Deputy Head of the Department for International Development (DFID) in Tanzania and held several other Team Leader positions in Tanzania and back home in London.

Her work has taken her to other countries including Nigeria, Zambia.

She started her career in 1988 as a Dietitian and Food Scientist.
