According to the Health Ministry, the patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at our medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.

On Sunday, the News Room was able to confirm that the Vice-Chairman of Region 10, Douglas Gittens passed away after he became infected with COVID-19 and was hospitalised.

Meanwhile, another 60 people were tested positive, taking the total number of cases recorded since last March to 18,446. These new infections were recorded from 520 tests.

The 60 infections were drawn from: Region One (three cases), Region Three (seven cases), Region Four (24 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (19 cases) and Region 10 (six cases).
