Guyanese batsman Sherfane Rutherford struck his second highest T20 score in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), but Peshawar Zalmi lost to Multan Sultans in Match 21 on Sunday in Abu Dhabi.

The left-hander, who will turn out for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in CPL 2021, struck two fours and four sixes in 56 off 40 balls, and topscored in Peshawar Zalmi’s 166-7.

Openers Kamran Akmal and Haider Ali made 35 and 28 respectively, as Shahnawaz Dhani took 4-31.

It was the first significant score for the former Guyana Amazon Warriors batsman since the restart of PSL, following scores of 15 and 10 against Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators respectively.

Multan Sultans, on the back of 82* off 56 from opener Mohammad Rizwan and 61 off 31 from Sohaib Maqsood, knocked off the target in 16.3 overs with just two wickets down.

Rutherford’s countryman Shimron Hetmyer, who played for Multan Sultans, did not get a chance to bat.
