Christopher Griffith led Team Evolution’s dominance on Sunday when the annual Father’s Day road race was held on the West Demerara roadways. Though several leading riders were absent, the race, which was held mostly in rain, was very competitive.

Team Evolution riders were outstanding in the road race, sponsored by Banks DIH Limited, through the Powerade energy drink brand.

Griffith won the senior category from Schoonord to Parika and back to the start point for the finish in a time of one hour, 41 minutes, 36 seconds.

Griffith’s Team Evolution’s teammate Stephen Fernandes took second, followed by Curtis Dey, Walter Grant-Stuart, Paul DeNobrega and Alex Mendes.

Fernandes was the leading rider of the Masters category, with Grant-Stuart taking second and Mendes third.

In the female division, which was contested on a shorter distance, Suzanne Hamilton won in one hour, 12 minutes, 14 seconds. Clevacia Spencer finished in second position.
