    The Ministry of Health reported that another man and woman died from the disease, COVID-19 taking the total death toll since March 2020 to 449, while the death toll for the month of June has risen to 51.

    The latest fatalities, as reported by the Health Ministry, are: a 57-year-old female and 64-year-old male, both from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica). The Health Ministry said that they both died while receiving care at a medical facility.

    Meanwhile, another 48 people were infected with the novel coronavirus, taking the total number of infections since March 11, 2020 to 19,144. These new infections were recorded after 102 tests were conducted. 

    These new cases recorded from: Region Three (four cases), Region Four (26 cases), Region Five (two cases), Region Six (nine cases), Region Seven (three cases), Region Nine (two cases) and Region 10 (two cases). 

    There are also 1521 active cases; 18 of these cases are patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 106 are in institutional isolation, 1,396 are in home isolation and one person is in institutional isolation. 

    Importantly, another 102 people have recovered after they were previously infected with the virus.
