A man is now hospitalised in a critical condition and is awaiting surgery after receiving a severe beating from his girlfriend’s ex-lover.
According to a police report, 21-year-old Sabutaro Singh of La Grange, West Bank Demerara went to visit his girlfriend on Sunday night at Back Street, Herstelling, East Bank Demerara.
Police said that while there, he was confronted by his girlfriend’s ex-lover who initially threatened to kill him.
The man reportedly then cuffed Singh several times before chopping him about his body with the help of his friends.
Singh was then rushed to the hospital and is said to be nursing an open skull fracture, a fracture to the right wrist, a partially severed forearm, and a deep laceration to the left side of the neck.
Police are on the hunt for the suspects as investigations continue.
