A 46-year-old man was robbed of his Toyota Fielder wagon, a cell phone, his silver chain and band during a robbery that occurred at around 01:10 hrs in Leopold Street, Georgetown,

Initial police investigations revealed that the man was driving west along Leopold Street when he saw a white Mazda car parked in the middle of the street, facing east. This vehicle prevented him from proceeding further.

Subsequently, it was reported that two suspects exited the back passenger seat of the Mazda and approached the victim who was seated in his car. One of them pointed a gun at the man’s head and demanded that he exit the car. Another suspect, who was armed with a knife, began to search the man’s pockets and relieved him of his cellphone and the jewellery he was wearing.

The suspects then entered the man’s car while the driver of the Mazda drove off, thereby giving the suspects a clear path to escape.

Police reported that no shots were fired nor was anyone injured. Further investigation in progress.
