Athletes Jasmine Abrams and Emanuel Archibald will represent Guyana at the Tokyo Olympic Games from July 23 to August 8.

Significantly, Jasmine will join her sister, 400m runner Aliyah Abrams, at the Games. Aliyah was the first Guyanese confirmed to attend the global showpiece. Aliyah also competed at the 2016 Olympics.

Jasmine, who will compete in the 100m event, booked her spot through her world ranking.

Malta Carib Brand Ambassador Archibald, the country’s 100m and Long Jump champion, will compete in those two events at the Games. Archibald qualified by Universality Place.

The other Guyanese who are heading to the Tokyo Olympics are boxer Keevin Allicock, table tennis player Chelsea Edghill and swimmer Andrew Fowler.

The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association president Dwayne Scott could not confirm on Friday afternoon whether Jamila Sanmoogan or Aleka Persaud is the female swimmer representing at the Games.
