Tuschen man chopped after colliding with another cyclist

Ricardo Singh, a 39-year-old man from the Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo was chopped on his forearm after he collided with another cyclist while riding along the Lalli Dam access road.

According to police reports, Singh and the assailant were both riding their bicycles on this access road at around 20:00 hrs on Thursday. Upon colliding, they both dismounted their cycles and engaged in an argument.

Thereafter, police related that Singh reported that the assailant took out a cutlass and dealt him one chop to his lower forearm, before escaping.

Singh was later rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, in Region Three, by a citizen. According to police reports, the man was seen by a doctor on duty, treated and referred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was admitted as a patient in a stable condition.

Police said that the suspect is known but though checks were made for the suspect but to no avail.

An investigation is in progress.
