West Indies Women defeated Pakistan Women by seven runs (DLS Method) in the second CG Insurance T20I on Friday to close out the series with a game remaining.

West Indies Women followed up their 10-run win in the first game with another close victory to seal their first series win since May 2019.

Batting first at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, West Indies made 125-6 from the maximum 20 overs; Pakistan, needing a revised 110 from 18 overs, mustered 103-6.

West Indies had slipped to 45-3 by the ninth over, before a recovery took them to a winning total. Kycia Knight was named Player-of-the-Match for a game-high 30 not out off 20 balls (2x4s, 1×6).

Cheadan Nation made 28 off 33, as left-arm spinner Anam Amin took 2-31 and seamer Fatima Sana 2-18.

Nida Dar made 29 in Pakistan’s reply as five batters were dismissed via the run out route. Hayley Matthews (1-13 off four) was the only bowler to claim a wicket.

The third and final game will take place on Sunday from 14:00h at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
