The Essequibo Cricket Development Committee, which falls under the Guyana Cricket Board, on Sunday donated 1,500 facemasks to G-Division, Essequibo Coast and Islands.

On hand to receive the masks was Commander of Region Two, Cristal Robinson, who expressed immense gratitude for the support from the Committee since the masks will not only be of aid to the ranks in the division, but to the public with whom they steadily engage to raise awareness on the practices to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Commander also expressed a desire for further partnership, especially in cricket, to keep the youth gainfully occupied.

Chairman of the Cricket Development Committee, Ryan Hercules, said they were motivated to play a role in helping to safeguard this group of frontline workers from Region Two and it is also the first step in building a strong partnership with Guyana Police Force so they can develop cricket in Region Two whenever a state of normalcy returns.

Only recently, the Parika Salem Sports Club donated the said number of masks to Regional Division Three.
