    Another two men died after they were infected with COVID-19 taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 484 with eight of those deaths recorded during this month so far.

    On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported that the latest fatalities are: a 59-year-old man from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) and a 65-year-old man from Region Four (Mahaica- Berbice); they both died while receiving care at the medical facility on July 6.

    Meanwhile, the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard indicated that another 77 people became infected with the disease after 920 tests were conducted. This means that there have been 20, 645 infections recorded since March 2020.

    These cases were recorded in Region One (five cases), Region Two (two cases), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (23 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (eight cases), Region Nine (four cases) and Region 10 (29 cases).

    Meanwhile, there are 1,517 active cases currently; these include 15 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 89 people in institutional isolation, 1,410 are in home isolation, and three persons in institutional isolation

    Importantly, another 181 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
