    Another two women died after they were infected with COVID-19 taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 486 with 10 of those deaths recorded during this month so far.

    On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported that the latest fatalities are: a 47-year-old woman from Region Four (Mahaica- Berbice) and a 68-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne). They both died while receiving care at the medical facility on July 7.

    In addition to these two deaths, the ministry’s daily COVID-19 dashboard indicated that another 112 people became infected with the disease after 2,727 tests were conducted. This means that there have been 20, 757 infections recorded since March 2020.

    These cases were recorded in Region One (three cases), Region Two (one case), Region Three (10 cases), Region Four (76 cases), Region Five (three cases), Region Six (13 cases), Region Seven (two cases)and Region 10 (four cases).

    Meanwhile, there are 1,476 active cases currently. These include 13 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 90 people in institutional isolation and 1,373 are in home isolation.

    Importantly, another 148 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
