A 20-year-old woman has been arrested after police caught her with a large quantity of cannabis at the Bartica Stelling on Saturday, which she reportedly purchased for her uncle.
According to a police report, ranks acted on information received and went to the Bartica Stelling at around 12:40 hrs and arrested the suspect.
She was escorted to the Bartica Police Station where a search was conducted on an orange handbag she was carrying.
Police found a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems, suspected to be cannabis wrapped in transparent plastic and concealed in a multi-colored blanket.
The items were weighed in her presence and amounted to 892 grams.
