Reg. 4 man latest COVID death, 62 new cases recorded

The Ministry of Health has reported that an 82-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) died from COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a medical facility.

This means that 37 deaths have already been recorded in the month of July. In total, there have been 514 COVID-19 deaths since March 2020.

Meanwhile, another 62 infections were recorded over a 24-hour period after 1,933 tests were conducted. In total, 21,668 cases have been recorded since March last year.

The new cases were recorded in: Region Two (one case), Region Three (seven cases), Region Four (28 cases), Region Five (four cases), Region Six (18 cases) and Region 10 (four cases).

There are also 12 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 97 people are in institutional isolation; 1,052 are in home isolation and two people are in institutional quarantine.

And, in total, 19,993 people who were previously infected with COVID-19, have now recovered.
