Officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) have arrested two suspects following the interception of a vehicle that contained 73 pounds (or 33.2 kilograms) of cannabis on Wednesday afternoon, along the Lusignan prison road on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD).
According to a CANU press release, the officers were carrying out an operation at the location on Wednesday. At around 14:05 hrs, the vehicle with the cannabis inside was intercepted.
The two suspects arrested then were taken to the CANU Headquarters on Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown, and are currently in custody pending investigations.
