Griffith Franklin, 71, of Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown, is now suffering from a broken right leg after he was injured during a hit and run accident.
Police Headquarters reported that Franklin was hit by an unknown motor vehicle at about 00:20h Sunday on the Mon Repos Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.
Police said Franklin was walking alongside the road when the vehicle collided with him. He is in a serious condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
