An additional four persons, who tested positive for COVID-19, have died, the Ministry of Health reported in a statement on Sunday. This takes the country’s death toll from the virus to 527.
The ministry noted that the latest fatalities were all admitted at medical institutions with COVID-19 symptoms, but died while receiving care. Samples taken from the patients returned positive.
The latest fatalities are:
1. A 64-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), who died on July 23
2. A 57-year-old woman from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), who died on July 23
3. An 86-year-old man from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), who died on July 23
4. And a 76-year-old woman from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), who died on July 23
The four deaths now take the death toll for July to 49.
Meanwhile, 60 new infections were recorded from a total of 885 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 22,150.
The new cases were recorded in: Region One (two cases), Region Two (four cases), Region Three (eight cases), Region Four (22 cases), Region Five (four cases), Region Six (nine cases) and Region Nine (11 cases).
There are 11 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 66 people are in institutional isolation; 964 are in home isolation and three persons remain in institutional quarantine.
To date, 20,582 people, who were previously infected with COVID-19, have recovered.
So with all the persons dropping dead…you still don’t wanna get vaccinated ??? Not smart.
