The Ministry of Health has reported that another 53 people have tested positive for SARS- CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease COVID-19.
These new cases were detected after 1,693 samples were tested. In total, there have now been 22,234 infections recorded locally since March 11, 2020. Another 108 people recovered after they were infected with SARS-CoV-2.
The new cases were also drawn from: Region Three (one case), Region Four (23 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (nine cases), Region Nine (17 cases) and Region 10 (two cases).
There have been no additional deaths reported over a 24-hour period. That means that the death toll remains at 530, with 51 of those deaths recorded this month alone.
There are also 932 active cases. These include nine patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 68 people in institutional isolation, 854 in home isolation and one in institutional quarantine.
