Crowbar bandits rob Rose Hall Town Superbet

Two masked bandits armed with a crowbar carted of G$33,500 in cash after storming a Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice, Superbet location.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday evening at Transformer Street, Rose Hall Town, at around 20:10hrs.

Police said that the cashier at the Superbet location was tending to a male customer when the two masked men dressed in dark clothing ran into the shop; one was said to be armed with a crowbar and the other with an unknown object.

The men ordered the cashier and the customer to lay face down on the ground inside the shop.

While the male customer complied, police said the suspect holding the crowbar ordered the cashier to open the inner door and to hand over all the cash.

Being fearful for her life, she complied and pointed him to a cartoon box where the cash was hidden.

The two suspects then escaped on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.
