    Nand Singh, 43, was on Wednesday charged with dangerous driving in the April 1,2021 accident that caused the death of Financial Analyst Pretipaul Jaigobin.

    Singh, who appeared before Magistrate Wonda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, entered a not guilty plea to the charge.

    Summary disposal was applied and the accused, after entering his not guilty plea, was placed on $200,000 bail.

    He is set to make his next appearance on the August 13, 2021.

    Jaigobin who was the Economic and Financial Analyst attached to the Ministry of Finance and Treasurer of the Guyana Cricket Board died after the  black Toyota Tundra he was travelling in toppled several times.

    Singh reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

    Jaigobin, 54, of Low Lands, East Coast Demerara, and three other persons were travelling along the Mahdia access road about five kilometres from the Mabura Police Outpost when the accident occurred.

    The other occupants, Franky Wessel Trotz, 29, of Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara and Ravie Gayadean, 25, of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo, all received injuries.
