Emanuel Archibald’s Olympic journey ends
Guyanese sprinter Emanuel Archibald bowed out of the Tokyo Olympic Games on Saturday morning in Round One of the Men’s 100m at the Olympic Stadium, Japan.
Archibald, who qualified with a run of 10.30s in the Preliminary Round, clocked 10.41s in Heat Two of Round One, the same time as Refugee athlete Dorian Keletela as they finished in the cellar position.
The race was won by Enoch Adegoke of Nigeria in a time of 9.98s, while the other two qualifiers were Femi Ogunode of Qatar and Zharnel Hughes of Great Britain in 10.02s and 10.04s respectively.
