Keron Vandregen, 20, of Blueberry Hill, Wismar, Linden was on Wednesday charged and remanded to prison for raping a child under the age of 16.
He was arrested back in May for the rape which occurred on April 28, 2021.
The charge was laid on Wednesday under Section 11 (3) of the Sexual Offences Act Chapter 8:03, the police said in a statement.
The accused appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan via Zoom but was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
He was placed on $150,000 bail and the matter was adjourned to August 18, 2021.
