Police are investigating the circumstances under which a three-year-old boy is thought to have walked out of his house and ended up dead in a drain on Sunday morning.
Dead is Trayshawn Archer.
His mother, 19-year-old mother Aaliyah Archer, told Police she last saw her son asleep at 05:00 hrs.
She told Police that at about 06:18 hrs, she discovered that he was not in the house and she immediately started to search for him and found a pair of brown rubber slippers belonging to him on the bridge that gave access to the neighbour’s yard.
The neighbour, Sean Dover, said he did not see the boy. An alarm was raised and a report was made to the police at North Ruimveldt Police Outpost.
Persons in the area and the police conducted searches but he was not seen.
But at about 15:15 hrs, the body of the boy was found at the intersection of the trench that runs to the front and back of his home.
The Police said no marks of violence were seen to the body.
A post mortem is expected to be conducted.
