Pensioners across Guyana will benefit from additional relief as President Dr. Irfaan Ali late Monday night announced three additional relief packages totalling $2.6 billion.
As per the additional relief packages announced, all pensioners across Guyana- some 65,000 people in total- will get a one-off grant of $25,000. This is equivalent to one month’s pension.
And, in total, the President said that this is expected to place a total of $1.6 billion in disposable income in the hands of elderly Guyanese.
