Patients who have an underlying blood clotting disorder such as haemophilia as well as those patients who are receiving chemotherapy or dialysis should receive clearance from their doctor before taking a COVID-19 vaccine.
This is according to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Narine Singh, in a memorandum detailing the updated information for COVID-19 vaccination exemptions.
All individuals aged 18 years and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccines; however, only people aged 18 to 60 can receive the Chinese- Sinopharm vaccine.
Meanwhile, children aged 12 years and older will be able to receive the US-made Pfizer vaccines.
