An argument between a couple on Saturday morning ended tragically when a father of two died by suicide after he attacked his 32-year-old girlfriend in Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Dead is 35-year-old Andy Williams, a father of two and a gold miner; the incident occurred at the Anna Regina market.
The News Room understands that the argument escalated between the two and Williams whipped out a knife and charged towards his girlfriend, however, he only managed to injure her left wrist with the weapon.
The woman escaped and Williams subsequently took his own life; he was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while the woman was treated and discharged.
