Unidentified body found at Vreed-en-Hoop

An unidentified man was discovered dead along New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara Sunday morning.

Police Headquarters reported that the body, that of an East Indian, clad in a brown short-sleeved jersey, long blue jeans and white sneakers, was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital mortuary.

According to reports, an unknown caller made a report to the police that the man was lying motionless on the road.

Police said the scene was visited by police ranks that checked the body and found no marks of violence on the exposed parts.

Investigations are ongoing as the body awaits identification.
