CPL 2021: Rayon Griffith is new Guyana Amazon Warriors Head Coach

Guyanese Rayon Griffith has been appointed as the Lead Coach of the Guyana Amazon Warriors for this season of the Hero Caribbean Premier League which starts August 26 in St. Kitts and Nevis.

According to a release from the organisers, Griffith is currently in Jamaica with the West Indies Test team and will join the Amazon Warriors squad at the conclusion of that series. He is an Assistant Coach on the West Indies men’s team.

The final Test is scheduled to end on August 24, and it is understood that due to Griffith moving from ‘bubble’ to ‘bubble’, he will not be required to undergo, the three-day quarantine period.

Griffith moves up from the rank of Assistant Coach with the Amazon Warriors after joining the franchise in 2018.

He replaces South African Johan Botha as the Warriors’ Head Coach.

Warriors will play the opening match against defending champions, Trinbago Knight Riders at 10:00h.
