East Canje student chopped to forehead during argument
A 15-year-old male student of East Canje Berbice is in a stable condition at the New Amsterdam Hospital nursing a chop wound to his forehead, which he sustained during an argument with another student.
According to the police report, the teen’s father said that around 20:30 hrs, his son went to Kamla’s Shop located at Wallace Street, Cumberland when an argument ensued between his son and the suspect.
The suspect reportedly left and returned with a cutlass and chopped the victim to his forehead. The young man was picked up by his father who rushed him to the hospital.
Police said that the suspect was subsequently arrested as investigations continue.
